Inclement Weather Instructions
Richland College

THORGUARD SYSTEM
Richland College has installed a lightning detection system that will provide a warning if there a potential of lightning in the immediate area.  Notices have been posted around the Classic League Soccer Complex by Richland College and here are the procedures for the Board Member on Duty to follow:

One long blast from the warning system will be notification to “CLEAR THE FIELDS AND GO TO YOUR CARS AND REMAIN THERE UNTIL AN ALL CLEAR IS SOUNDED”.

Three blasts from the warning system will be notification for an “ALL CLEAR” to return to the fields.

In addition to the system warning blasts, the YELLOW LIGHT should be turned on during the delay for the fields to remain clear of all people.  Make sure your volunteers and referees remain at the concession building with you for assistance and communication with them.  NO other players, spectators, coaches, etc. should be at the concession area and they should remain in their cars in the parking lots until a change is made in the status of the playing conditions.  Notify the Weather Hotline contact to update that games are in delay so the information can be added to the hotline for teams.

If games are cancelled due to weather conditions or field playability, turn the RED LIGHT on to indicate games are cancelled for the remainder of the day.  Then notify the Weather Hotline and Website Field Status contact to update.

Revision #1 6/26/98
Revision #2  11/3/2008

This policy is in effect for all persons on the Richland campus.

1. Richland College is a smoke- and tobacco-free campus, except as permitted in the “five designated areas.” In addition, the sale of tobacco products on campus is prohibited.

2. The five designated areas are:  Fannin Hall on the east side near the Arena Theater exit; Medina Hall, immediately north of the east exit: Uvalde Building on the south side; Thunderduck Hall, immediately southwest of west entrance; and Crockett Hall on the northwest corner.

3. Ash tray urns displaying appropriate signs are placed on the inside perimeter of all parking lots, reminding students, staff, and community visitors that Richland is a smoke-free/tobacco-free campus except in the five designated locations.

4. In compliance with National Junior College Athletic Association and Chamber Classic Soccer Alliance, Inc. policies and regulations, tobacco use is prohibited from all athletic fields on the Richland campus.

5. Richland College Police may issue citations for violations of smoking/tobacco use regulations promulgated by Richland College.

6. The twelve month “year” regarding citations begins on August 1 and ends on July 31 of each calendar year.

7. All paid citations will be purged from the system on August 1 of each year.

8. The college citation fees are as follows:

1st citation - $5; 2nd citation - $15; 3rd citation - $20; 4th citation - $25; 5th citation and beyond - $30.
